I am now convinced that the simplest approach will prove to be the most effective - the solution to poverty is to abolish it directly by a now widely discussed measure: the guaranteed income.

Poverty is a common word that an Indian sees whenever they open the newspapers. Before beginning to understanding this term let us have a basic sense.
Poverty is referred to an economic crisis, when the basic means of livelihood are on the verge of getting endangered. It is measured on the basis of per capita income, literacy rate, health status, social status and some other features. This is what turned India from the "Sone ki chidiya" to a beggar.
From 2001 and around the last decade, although there has been a decline of the concentration of poor people, i.e. 37.2% in 2004-2005 to 29.8% in 2009-2010. Hence it has became a vast subject of discussion, even the MBA students have to make a report on Poverty: Causes and Solutions in their semester tests.
But the increasing population has resulted in the need to expand urbanisation, there is now a sense of unhygienic living conditions for the increasing number of urban poor.
World Bank thus states that urban poverty in India is at a more rapid stage than rural poverty. 70 million new city dwellers are turning poor every year in India.
Government drew the poverty line for the rural people at Rs. 816 per month (11$) and for urban people it is Rs. 1000 (13$).
The Tendulkar Planning Commision in 2012 reported that 26% of all Indian people fall below the International Poverty Line.
Causes of India's Extreme Poverty
There are a large number of causes for India's Endangered subsistence:
The poor generation of employment opportunities.
Improper subsidies to the farmers and doing conventional works without using appropriate technology
Division of land generation wise.
Corruption of most officials in charge of spreading Government help to the poor.
Insensitive oppressions by private institutions like CESC and private schools, and these are only the notable ones.
Solutions for poverty as envisioned by the Government:
The Indian Government under various parties and ministries had one sole target: to alleviate poverty. The following are some of the Measures taken by the government from the last decade:
National Rural Employment Guarantee Act
Food Security Bill
Fight Hunger First Initiative
Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana
10% quota to Economically Weaker Sections
Although the government formulated various poverty minimisation programmes, subsidies to the poor people, pension to the BPL, but there has not been a rapid development for people to go above the Poverty Line. Till now thousands die because of hunger, sanitisation problems. In fact people who are way above the poverty line hold on to the BPL status leading to distribution of funds.
And we are still an developing country. So from now on each and every time you get some luxuries, think of the poor boy who is eating rice gruel after two to three days and also has to leave a bit for his mother and siblings.
Youth is the building block of the nation. Being home of 1.2 billion people of which 20 % is youth, discover India through the perspective of its youth.
